Keep your new HP laptop's cardboard box until your claim for the seasonal warranty or accessory add-ons is approved, because the barcoded serial number sticker on the box is accepted for that claim.
During HP's seasonal offer periods, laptops in the offer qualify for add-ons at a fixed fee, such as an extended warranty with accidental damage protection and antivirus, or an accessory bundle. These add-ons are not applied at checkout. You buy the laptop first, then register it on the redemption page named in the offer terms, which also list the laptop series covered. Orders on the store's own website qualify, but marketplace purchases do not.
The registration window is short, and it counts from the purchase date, not the delivery date. For an online order, the days the laptop spends in transit still count against it. Keep a scan of a government ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, a driving licence or a passport ready, and scan the purchase invoice and the barcoded serial number sticker on delivery day. The name you register with must match the name on the invoice, so place the order in the name of the person who will claim.
If the fee is not paid during registration, the approval email carries a payment link, and the claim is rejected if you miss its deadline. Every laptop in the offer is also sold without it, so pick only the add-ons you would buy anyway. If you want an extended warranty, price the store's own extended warranty and compare it with the add-on fee before you pay for either.
