Type each traveller's name exactly as it appears on the ID they will carry, so the ID checked at the airport counter matches the concession booking.
These fares only show up when you pick the armed forces, student or senior citizen option while booking on the Air India Express website or app. The discount comes off the base fare, not taxes and fees, so your total drops by less than the headline percentage. The armed forces fare covers serving and retired personnel and their dependents, and takes up to 50% off the base fare.
The student and armed forces fares apply only to domestic flights on the Value fare, and the student fare is open only to travellers above 12. The student fare also adds 10 kg of extra check-in baggage, which saves you the cost of buying more baggage. During a sale, the cheapest fare on the same flight can come out lower than a concession fare, so price both on the payment page and book the lower total.
Web check-in is not allowed on these bookings, so you must check in at the airport counter. Each traveller must show a photo ID with name and date of birth: a government-issued armed forces ID (serving, retired or dependent), a student ID from a recognised institution, or, for travellers above 60, a government-issued ID. Without a valid ID, you pay all the applicable fare charges.
